Construction process of a swimming pool

Building a swimming pool is not an easy task. It is a process that depends on factors as varied as the type of terrain in which it is built, the materials, its use and purpose and even the personalization that is wanted in the decorative details. Next, we discuss the most basic phases you have to go through to get a custom swimming pool:

DELIMIT THE TERRAIN

Once the terrain has been delimited according to the measurement and depth chosen by the client, it is wrapped with metal mesh and mortar protection. After installing the electrical system and pipes, the walls and floor can be started. Be sure to pay attention to the slope when it is a gradual depth pool.

LAYING THE FLOOR AND WALLS

In order to build the walls and the floor, the first thing to be achieved is a concrete mixer. The cement must be expanded over the entire pool surface and then smoothed. Always bear in mind the inclinations and different depths, the place where the staircase will go and other characteristics previously agreed with the client.

FINISH THE WALLS

Swimming pools need a type of impermeable material to prevent water from being absorbed by the ground. There are many valid options, but some of the most common solutions are:

  • Basic plastic sheathing
  • Basic plastic sheathing
  • A tile covering
  • An overlaying of tiles

  • A plaster layer
  • A protective plastic coating applied with spray

FILL THE EXTERIOR

It is important to fill in the space behind the pool walls. This filling material will vary depending on the area in which the pool is built.

STONEWARE INSTALLATION

Now is the time to put all the details that make a pool unique and special. It is called coronation at the edge of the swimming pool and is where you should always use first quality anti-slip materials, since this area will be the one that, as a general rule, will always be wetter and must ensure maximum safety. Coronation materials can range from artificial stone to natural stoneware, and their placement must be perfect for a pool to look well finished. The gresite gives colour to the pool as it covers the whole glass of water and it is very important that it is placed by professionals. It can be used to create different shapes, colours and decorations. For this reason, the gresite gives the pool the most personal touch of each client.
